What To Do

More and more we are dependent on the memory of our cell phone or tablet instead of our own memory. Contact names and phone numbers escape us, especially in times of high stress like an emergency, creating higher anxiety and frustration. Take the time to create an emergency contact list. The list should identify family and friends from near and far, doctors, pharmacists, insurance companies (health/home/auto), schools, daycares, poison control and veterinary clinics. Have hard and soft copies easily accessible. Consider storing soft copies in your email, as a screen shot and/or in the cloud. It is a good idea to keep a hard copy in your 72 hour emergency kit, in your car, at work and in your child(s) backpack in case they get separated during an emergency.
